Jaime Orrego Dancing the role of "Father" in Tanabata: The Story of Orihime & Hikoboshi
Jaime was born in LA, however spent the majority of his influential years in the Washington D.C. area. His passion for dance began at the Virginia Ballet Company under the guidance of Dina Fadeyeva and he continued his training at The Rock School for Dance Education and later Shenandoah University. Jaime is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts and had the opportunity to perform internationally in Austria in a performance of Franz Joseph Haydn’s The Seasons, choreographed by Mary Margaret Holt & Ilya Kozadayev. Jaime performed professionally with the Sacramento Ballet, dancing works by Ashley Walton, Gabrielle Lamb, Ron Cunningham, Gerlad Arpino and Stephanie Martinez. Jaime also developed his choreographic interests in the Sacramento Ballet’s popular ‘Beer & Ballet’ program showcasing his works, Sparks (2017) and Smoke (2016). Jaime has also worked as an artist with Capital Dance Project, Ballet Des Moines, Menlowe Ballet, Virginia Ballet Company, and Roanoke Ballet Theater. Additionally, Jaime has worked in the costume department of Sacramento Music Circus, B Street Theatre, and Capital Dance Project. He currently is part of the costume department with Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA.
Jaime has performed in Sensory Friendly Dance productions since our founding year in 2017, as well as been an integral part of the costume department. This year, he has handmade all the costumes that are part of Tanabata: The Story of Orihime & Hikoboshi.
